About the Process

Owens Corning strives to provide you with a customer experience that is second to none. We’re committed to providing the quality, professionalism and innovative product that you’ve come to expect from Owens Corning. All of our authorized independent franchises employ Certified Basement Designers and Installers to provide you with a world class experience.

If you’ve already had your basement designed by a Certified Basement Designer, congratulations! You are on your way to enjoying the extra living space you’ve dreamt about! In order to ensure that you understand what’s next, we’d like to outline what to expect in the next few weeks.

Step 1: Welcome Call

You should receive a call from the franchise welcoming you to the Owens Corning family of products and congratulating you for making the decision to have us remodel your basement into your unique living space.

Step 2: Lending Agreement

Most of our customers find it easier to manage monthly investments rather than one lump payment. If you prefer this method as well, the franchisee’s finance manager will detail the lending agreement with you.

Step 3: Pre-Installation Walk Through

At the same time financing is being worked out, the Production Department should be scheduling a pre-installation walk through of your home to ensure that the scope of work to be performed is equal to your expectations.

Step 4: Compliance

We remodel each and every job to meet local building codes.

Step 5: Installation Appointment

You should receive an installation start date in which your Certified Installers are committed only to your project. This ensures your installation is completed within the estimated completion time communicated and won’t leave your job unattended for an extended length of time.

Step 6: Installation Begins

Your professional, knowledgeable and courteous Certified Installers will arrive making sure that they review the construction process with you and take full consideration of your property and treat your home with respect and integrity.

Step 7: Installation Completion

The Project Manager assigned to your installation will continue to provide you updates and be your partner through the installation project should you have any questions or concerns.

Step 8: Final Walk Through

Once your installation is complete, the Project Manager will have a final walk through with you making sure everything is up to the standards that exceed your expectations. Download and use a Punch List to review any concerns at this time.

Step 9: Warranty Registration

The Basement Finishing System™ comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty*. This should be reviewed with you by the Project Manager and left for your records. Please take the time to fill this out and send it in or click here to submit online to ensure registration with Owens Corning of your installation.

Step 10: Customer Satisfaction Survey

How did we do? We always welcome feedback from our customers. We ask you take a few minutes to complete the Customer Satisfaction Survey provided in your packet or click here to submit online. Owens Corning typically calls each new customer to ensure you are completely satisfied with your Basement Finishing System™ and the experience you had.
