The recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, popularly known as the “stimulus package,” offers a federal tax credit of up to $1,500 to homeowners who invest in new, energy-efficient Home Improvements.

How to Qualify for the Tax Credit

  1. Make qualifying Owens Corning Home Improvements between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
  2. Save the purchase receipt for basements and/or all NFRC/Energy Star labels from the windows installed.
  3. Claim a 30% tax credit on your 2009 tax return.

Improving your home with the select Owens Corning home improvements qualifies you for a tax credit for 30% of the cost of materials for qualifying projects throughout 2009 and 2010, up to a maximum of $1,500.

Download this Owens Corning Manufacturer’s Certification Document, fill it out, and take it, along with all receipts or itemized bills from your certified contractor showing the amount spent on insulation materials between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009, to your tax professional to the claim the credit.
